Kustom pertama dari BMW R nineT 2014

Inilah hasil karya kustom BMW R nineT di dunia dari Urban Motor, Jerman. Beberapa perubahan seperti konsep besar motor gede ini menjadi jiwa dari ubahannya dari sosok awal nineT. Sedianya motor kustom ini akan menjadi ikon untuk model motor-motor reguler dan motor kustomnya. Moge ini merupakan produk terbaru dari pabrikan BMW Motorrad (spesial motor) alias meluncur untuk tahun 2014 ini.

Perubahan yang dilakukan oleh builder meliputi mendesain ulang tangki gambotnya dengan model lebih segaris dengan single jok dan sektor buritan yang cenderung meruncing ini. Untuk hal tersebut, sentuhan grafis minimalis berwarna biru mudah dan biru tua ditambahkan pada sektor ini (tangki). Bahan dasar alloy digunakan untuk membentuk sektor 'ekornya' yang dipadukan dengan jok berbahan kulit eksklusif.

Mottogadget Motoscope Pro digital LED dibenamkan di antara 'kepalanya' sebagai indikator performa si moge kustom asal Jerman ini. Sedangkan untuk lampunya sendiri diletakkan di bawah kolong triple-clamp menggunakan diameter 50mm (mungil).

Beberapa part terkini yang teraplikasikan dalam moge kustom ini antara lain kopling dan master silinder dari Brembo, m-Blaze Disc bar untuk sektor lampu sein belakang dan m-Lock digital key.

Clip-ons atau sering disebut dengan stang setir gantung mencomot dari merekan Gilles Tooling bernuansa klasik yang dipercantik dengan gas grip dari Domino. Dua ban gambotnya diisi oleh part dari Golden Tire dengan model dual-sport GT201. Di Italia ban ini cukup terkenal dengan produk yang mumpuni untuk trek berlumpur atau untuk ban motorcross.

Harga resmi Yamaha YZF R6 Indonesia!

PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) akhirnya mengumumkan secara resmi harga YZF-R6 2014, 21 November 2013, Jakarta. Motor sport yang masih diimpor dalam bentuk jadi ini (CBU - Complete Built Up) dibanderol seharga mulai Rp 220 juta.
Selain itu YIMM juga menawarkan satu set perlengkapan bermotor seperti helm, jaket, sarung tangan, dan sepatu secara khusus dengan harga spesial yakni Anda harus menambah biaya sekitar Rp 15 juta sehingga total pembelian berikut YZF R6 menjadi Rp 235 juta.
New Yamaha YZF R6 2014 kali ini hadir dengan aroma khas dunia balap. Mulai dari desain striping baru yang lebih agresif hingga performa yang semakin 'galak' dan 'Semakin di Depan'.

Beberapa perangkat pendongkrak performa pada YZF-R6 2014 antara lain chip pengontrol gas dan intake (Chip Controled Throttle - YCC-I MotoGP), fuel injeksi ganda pada tiap silinder, slipper clutch yang lebih handal dan 'lembut' saat pengoperan gigi transmisi, knalpot titanium pun terpasang apik.

RFID Juga Akan Dipasang di Sepeda Motor!

Jakarta - Pemasangan Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) pada kendaraan bermotor dalam rangka mensukseskan program Sistem Monitoring dan Pengendalian BBM (SMPBBM) oleh Pertamina juga akan dilakukan pada sepeda motor. Jadi bukan hanya mobil saja!

PT Industri Telekomunikasi Indonesia (INTI) selaku perusahaan yang menyiapkan infrastruktur SMPBBM mengaku menargetkan akan memasang RFID pada 120 juta kendaraan di Indonesia, jumlah tersebut bukan hanya mobil tapi juga sepeda motor dan transportasi masal seperti bus.

"Hanya saja, untuk saat ini kami masih berkonsentrasi pada mobil dan areanya hanya Jakarta," buka Dayu Rengganis, Corporate Services Director PT INTI. Wanita ramah ini mengakui jika pemasangan RFID baru tahap awal dalam program SMPBBM.

"Untuk sementara ini, baru mobil yang ada di Jakarta. Target selanjutnya adalah Kalimantan karena di sana jumlah kendaraan angkutan perkebunan, pertambangan dan kehutanan yang tidak boleh menggunakan bahan bakar bersubsidi sesuai dengan Peraturan Menteri ESDM no.1/2013 cukup banyak," jelas Andi Nugroho Manager Sosialisasi Sistem SMPBBM.

"Sedang untuk sepeda motor kami masih menunggu komando dari Pertamina," sambung Andi. Dengan pemasangan perangkat yang bentuknya seperti gelang dan diletakan di lubang bensin ini, bisa terdeteksi sepeda motor ini boleh atau tidak menggunakan bahan bakar bersubsidi.

Tanpa gelang RFID, maka nozzel di dispenser SPBU Pertamina akan menolak mengeluarkan bensin jenis premium. "Tanpa gelang maka hanya bisa diisi dengan bahan bakar non subsidi seperti Pertamax atau Pertamax Plus," jelasnya.

Selama tahap awal, Pertamina hanya melakukan monitoring distribusi bahan bakar bersubsidinya. Lewat sistem SMPBBM yang dibangun PT INTI, bisa diketahui siapa saja yang menggunakan bahan bakar bersubsidi, areanya hingga data diri pemilik kendaraan.

Kedepannya jika sudah ada payung hukumnya, baru akan dilakukan fungsi pengendalian. Pembatasan penggunaan bahan bakar bersubsidi dilakukan pada fase ini. Ada wacana pembatasan jumlah bahan bakar premium yang bisa dibeli kendaraan tiap bulannya.

Misalnya dalam satu bulan sepeda motor hanya bisa membeli premium sebanyak 30 liter, maka jika kuotanya habis, nozzel di SPBU tidak akan mengeluarkan bensin jenis premium.

"Untuk mengetahui kuotanya kami sudah siapkan sistemnya. Dengan menggunakan RFID reader yang diletakan di SPBU dan smart card yang dipegang oleh pemilik kendaraan," beber Andi.

"Tentunya kita harus mensukseskan program SMPBBM. Jika subsidi bahan bakar yang mencapai 250 Triliun Rupiah bisa dihemat, dana itu bisa bermanfaat untuk pembangunan masyarakat luas," ajak Dayu Rengganis dalam kunjungannya ke redaksi OTOMOTIF.

Honda Supra dengan 2 Bahan Bakar

Jakarta - Kontes modifikasi Honda Otocontest 2013 di Bandung akhirnya menentukan Honda Astrea Supra lansiran 2000 sebagai The King Extreme. Motor tersebut jerih payah IGN Putra Darmagita dari rumah modifikasi GTX Motorsport asal Bali.

Di tangan Putra, motor bebek ini menjelma menjadi motor ekstrem dan futuristik.

Desain ekstrem
Perjalanan Putra cukup panjang untuk bisa menang di Honda Otocontest 2013. Berbagai strategi dilakukan modifikator ini untuk menampatkan motor dengan tampilan menarik agar dilirik para juri kontes.

Bagaimana motor berlabur merah ini bisa menang, berikut ulasan spesifikasi motor tersebut.

Putra Darmagita mencoba melucuti citra Honda Supra, dan membangun rangka sepanjang 1,5 meter dari awal. Strategi frame dan bodinya dibuat sendiri di bengkel modifikasi di Bali.

Memadukan BBG (Bahan Bakar Gas)
Putra penuh percaya diri hanya membuat motor modifikasi di kelas extreme tapi sesuai standar yang sudah ditentukan oleh para juri.

Dia menjelaskan motor ini benar-benar custom dan hanya mesin bawaan pabrik yang asli, tapi itupun dioprek jadi 125 cc dari 100 cc demi menggerakkan bobot motor yang terlanjur berat berkat rangkaian besi-besi.

Tidak puas sampai disitu. Dengan bobot motor yang berat, Putra merasa tidak cukup hanya mengandalkan mesin 125 cc. Karena itu dia menggunakan teknik konverter kit LPG, artinya selain bahan bakar bensin, bahan bakar gas turut membantu menggerakkan mesin dan pada akhirnya letupan pada ruang bakar bertambah.

Konsep yang digunakan yaitu menyuplai bensin, udara dan gas LPG pada setiap putaran lewat lubang (venturi) karburator. Nah, cara mengaktifkan LPG cukup menekan tombol di sebelah tombol stater. Sementara itu, tabung gas 1 kg diletakkan di bawah setang yang dekat dengan karburator.

"Kalau pakai konsep ini, mesin jadi lebih bertenaga. Seperti penggunaan sistem NOS (Nitrous Oxide Systems). LPG sendiri bisa digunakan disetiap rpm. Misalnya pada tanjakan, atau saat motor membutuhkan tenaga. Kalau digunakan saat tanjakan motor jadi lebih ringan," kata Putra meski tak tahu pasti bobot motornya.

Futuristik
Strategi lainnya yang dipakai Putra adalah menggunakan motorized roof. Komponen tersebut bisa digunakan saat hujan turun. Roof ini juga bisa digunakan saat terik matahari. Kekurangannya posisi depan roof terlalu turun dan agak menghalangi kepala pengendara. Butuh posisi roof lebih tinggi lagi, bro!

Lebih dari ini motor modifikasi yang ditawarkan Putra. Anak muda asal Bali ini menawarkan layar di dasbor yang terintegrasi dengan kamera belakang untuk memantau kendaraan dari belakang. Teknologi ini disuguhkan supaya pengendaranya tidak perlu repot menolehkan kepalanya.

Karena mementingkan kenyamanan, Putra menyematkan ban depan 140-17, dan belakang 190/50-17. "Selama pengguaan motor lumayan nyaman dan sudah sesuai regulasi dari juri," tutup Putra.

Masalah Knalpot Jenis Racing

Knalpot racing tetap boleh dipakai harian asalkan!

Belakangan ini, mulai ramai lagi pada ngomongin soal knalpot racing yang dianggap gak sesuai prosedur peraturan lalu lintas di Indonesia, karena tingkat kebisingan suatu knalpot tertentu dianggap terlalu berlebihan. Berdasarkan peraturan, standar tingkat kebisingan knalpot mempunyai batas angka desibel sesuai karakter kapasitas mesin motor, brosis. Mau tahu lebih jelasnya? Yuk, disimak..

Standar Kebisingan

Jakarta. Menurut Divisi Humas Mabes Polri lewat statusnya di akun jejaring sosial Facebook (02/01), mereka ngebeberin bahwa suatu knalpot racing yang memiliki fitur dB (desibel) Killer, dianggap bukan suatu masalah. “Berdasarkan Peraturan Menteri Negara Lingkungan Hidup No. 7 tahun 2009 tentang Ambang Batas Kebisingan Kendaraan Bermotor Tipe Baru pada lampiran kedua, setiap kendaraan bermotor tipe L (roda dua) yang ber-cc kurang dari 175 cc, standar kebisingannya 80 desibel.”
Begitu juga selanjutnya, bagi motor yang memiliki kapasitas mesin lebih dari 175 cc, standar kebisingannya harus ada di angka 83 desibel. Peraturan tersebut sebenarnya juga udah berlaku dari pertengahan tahun kemarin brosis, tepatnya sejak 1 Juli 2013 lalu. “Bagi knalpot pabrikan yang memiliki fitur dB Killer sehingga tidak melanggar ketentuan tersebut di atas maka tidak masalah,” tukas Divisi Humas Mabes Polri di halaman Facebook-nya.
Nah, perlu kita ketahui juga perbedaan diantara knalpot racing ini brosis. Knalpot racing yang banyak beredar di jalanan punya dua jenis, yaitu knalpot racing yang berjenis bronx atau banyak beredar dengan bentuknya seperti botol dan knalpot racing aftermarket. Knalpot yang berjenis bronx ini yang gak punya fitur dB Killer, jadi standar kebisingannya pun gak terkontrol.

 

Sedangkan knalpot racing aftermarket, produsennya sudah melakukan riset sedemikian rupa dan selalu memberikan dB Killer di tiap knalpot racing bikinannya. Sehingga, standar kebisingannya pun terkontrol brosis. 

Fitur dB Killer ngasih perbedaan signifikan pada knalpot racing dari segi kebisingan.

Tapi, semua kembali pada diri sendiri brosis. Semua punya hak buat nentuin pilihan, antara ngaplikasiin knalpot standar pabrikan atau tipe racing. Karena setiap pengguna punya selera yang berbeda. Paling penting adalah tetap mengutamakan Safety Riding dan selalu patuhi peraturan lalu lintas yang berlaku. Jadilah bikers yang pintar.

Motor Tercepat di Dunia

 

Siapa yang tak kenal motor? kendaraan beroda dua dengan ditenagai mesin ini telah menjadi kendaraan idaman dizaman sekarang. Betapa tidak ? hampir 90 % orang-orang digarasi mempunyai yang namanya sepeda motor. Selain harganya yang terbilang "murah" bisa kreditan alias ngutang dulu. Persiapkan Cara ini Sebelum Motor Brosis Kena Curi atau Rampok

Akhir-akhir ini pencurian maupun perampokan kendaraan roda dua makin marak terutama di sekitaran Jakarta seperti, Bekasi, Bogor, Depok maupun Tangerang bukan berarti wilayah Jakarta juga tidak luput dari aksi tersebut. Pengguna diharuskan waspada dengan fenomena ini bukan hanya mengancam kehilangan kuda besi yang disayang namun juga kadangkala nyawa pun jadi taruhannya.

Bro and sis harus dapat waspada setiap saat karena kejahatan itu kapan, dimana saja akan terjadi pada diri kita, untuk itu mendingan bradercis mempersiapkan diri dengan beberapa tips berikut ini yang mungkin dapat bermanfaat bagi bro and sista :

1. Gunakan kunci ganda. Pihak kepolisian selalu mengingatkan melalui spanduknya di setiap wilayah yang rawan, hal ini patut kita ikuti saran tersebut belilah gembok maupun kunci ganda lainnya walaupun pencuri makin pintar untuk mendapatkan kuda besi brosis dengan menggunakan "cairan setan" atau bahan kimia yang mampu merusak kunci gembok namun setidaknya dapat menghambat gerakan mereka.

2. Hindari pulang larut malam. Situasi ini memungkinkan para perampok yang memang sudah mengincar kendaraan yang melintas di lokasi sepi maupun gelap, wilayah yang rawan itu minim pengamanan oleh sebab itu kalau bisa lewat jalur lain walaupun tidak ada jalan lainnya usahakan hindari atribut, aksesoris maupun barang yang tampak mencolok serta memancing tindak kejahatan.

3. Atur kecepatan saat lampu merah. Saat di rambu lalu lintas ini pengendara juga harus cerdik memanfaatkan situasi pasalnya keadaan berhenti dapat memancing tindak perampokan, untuk itu pilihlah posisi dimana motor brosis tidak terhalang dengan kendaraan baik motor maupun mobil sehingga jika terjadi sesuatu dapat leluasa bergerak.

4. Lihat situasi jika berhenti. Nah, kebiasaan brosis berhenti dimana lokasinya tidak ramai, sebaiknya jika ingin berhenti lihat lingkungan sekitarnya atau lokasi yang ramai sehingga ada sesuatu masyarakat sekitar dapat menolongnya.

5. Kalau dihadapkan situasi yang darurat sebaiknya serahkan motor saja. Situasi darurat disini brosis dihadapkan oleh perampok yang mengancam menggunakan senjata tajam maupun pistol sebaiknya serahkan motor tanpa perlawanan dari pada brosis kehilangan nyawa.

6. Asuransikan kendaraan brosis. Hal ini penting, bukan hanya melindungi diri dari aksi tindak kejahatan namun jika asuransi kendaraan brosis jika kecelakaan pun motor brosis bisa diklaim, untuk itu cari referensi asuransi yang bagus untuk kendaraan brosis.

SS100 ini adalah motor tercepat pada masanya. dengan Mesin motor 1.000 cc twin-cam KTOR JAP V twin. Pada tahun 1927, SS100 yang mencapai rekor kecepatan 130 mph. Pada tahun 1928, Brough memecahkan rekor 6 mph lebih cepat,Yang dulu diiklankan, "Rolls Roycenya Sepeda Motor."

Lawrence of Arabia memiliki salah satu sepeda motor SS100 seri pertama dan ia mengalami kecelakaan dengan sepeda motor SS100 yang mengambil nyawanya pada tahun 1935. sepeda itu sekarang dipajang di Imperial War Museum di London.

Sepeda motor klasik yang paling mahal yang dijual di lelang di The Haynes International Motor Museum di Oktober, 2010. harga akhir nya adalah menakjubkan £286.000 (US $ 442.000). atau hampir Rp. 4 Milyar.

Ojek Mister? Mau ke Kenya atau Liberia?

Nah, ini ada lagi satu cerita bagaimana Ojek semestinya masuk sebagai profesi formal yang ada di seluruh dunia. Malah kalau perlu didaftarkan ke ILO di PBB sebagai sumber matapencaharian yang legal dan halal.

Negara-negara Afrika yang tersebar di benua Afrika memang sangat luas. Ada cerita warga Eropa yang datang ke 3 negara Afrika. Pria ini bernama Curt Beckmann. Ia mengunjungi Togo, Sierra Leone dan Ghana. Ia kesulitan mencari alat transportasi untuk mengunjungi daerah-daerah terpencil. Kalaupun ada hanyalah taxi mobil namun dengan tarif yang lebih mahal. Namun sejak pertama kali menggunakan ojek, ia langsung sadar jika alat transportasi motor ini sangat membantunya terutama dalam menghemat waktu.

Dari sinilah, di negeri Kenya dan Liberia banyak juragan atau orang-orang kaya yang membeli motor. Motor inilah yang kemudian disewakan kepada pemuda di daerahnya untuk mencari penumpang alias ojek. Hampir sama seperti di Indonesia kan?

Tidak banyak persyaratan yang diminta oleh juragan motor. Ia hanya memberi syarat punya SIM dan mengetahui area yang menjadi tugasnya. Memang tak mudah untuk menjadi orang yang mengenal area. Pasalnya area di Afrika begitu luas dan sebagian besar terdiri dari hutan, padang pasir dan gunung bebatuan. Tapi semakin baik pengetahuan area maka semakin percaya sang juragan sewa motor.

Negeri Kenya yang dikenal dengan safari satwa liarnya ternyata berbeda dengan penduduknya yang ramah. Apalagi bagi yang berprofesi sebagai tukang ojek. Berdasarkan pengalaman seorang pengguna jasa ojek bernama Canli Izle. Ia rutin naik ojek pulang pergi dari rumah ke kantornya sebanyak 300 km. Mengetahui Canli memiliki bos, akhirnya sang tukang Ojek memberikan service antar bagi manajer alias atasan Canli. What a good promo and service excellent!

Bukan sekadar layanan antar jemput tapi lebih dari itu. Di motor ojek tersebut terdapat beberapa fasilitas seperti radio yang siap menemani perjalanan. Sticker lucu yang cukup menggelitik perut dan tentunya ada juga fasilitas helm. Mulai dari helm cetok, helm half face, full face hingga helm balap juga disediakan disini. Tergantung selera penumpangnya ingin pakai yang mana.

Bagi tukang ojek di Indonesia tentu memiliki permasalahan yang tidak berbeda. Mereka punya permasalahan dengan sumber pendapatan. Namanya juga ojek, kadang ada penumpang kadang enggak ada. Nah, kalau dihitung-hitung penerimaan tukang ojek di Kenya seperti ini;

Uang ini cukup untuk menghidupi keluarga secara sederhana mengingat biaya hidup disana sangat mahal akibat inflasi yang cukup tinggi. Dari sini kita tahu jika mencari nafkah dengan menggunakan motor seperti ojek bukanlah hal yang tabu. Buktinya masih banyak orang yang membutuhkan jasa ojek di luar negeri.

Namun factor lain yang juga mengurangi penerimaan tukang ojek di Kenya adalah terus bertambahnya unit motor. Lebih dari 40% motor telah diregistrasi di Kenya. Jumlah ini akan semakin bertambah mengingat permintaan semakin tinggi. Motor inilah yang nantinya akan dipergunakan oleh penumpang ojek lainnya. Masalahnya nanti, apakah motor ini sebagai kendaraan untuk pribadi atau sebagai motor ojek?

Sepeda Motor Bermesin Pesawat Mengalahkan Suara Harley Davidson

Frank Ohle berkebangsaan German menghabiskan waktu selama 18 bulan untuk mewujudkan Red Baron dari rancangan sampai menjadi kenyataan.
Setiap bagian dari sepeda motor ini dirancang untuk bisa menempatkan mesin pesawat Rotec Radial R3600 yang berkekuatan 150 kali tenaga kuda dan 9 mesin silinder. Rotec R3600 digunakan sebagai cadangan mesin pada era Perang Dunia I. Mesin ini ditempatkan dalam Sopwith Camel sebuah biplan vintage yang pertama kali diperkenalkan pada tahun 1917.
Tidak diketahui secara pasti Ohle menciptakan Red Baron ini namun dalam akun facebooknya Ohle mengatakan akan membuat motor yang unik dan tidak seperti motor bisanya.

Dengan suara mesin yang membuat kebisingan luarbisa ketika berjalan membuktikan bahwa Ohle benar-benar berhasil membuat sepeda motor yang sangat unik dan dapat berjalan dengan baik dan bahkan ada kepulan asap yang mengesankan ketika mesin sepeda motor ini dihidupkan.

HONDA: 1948- Japan – By 1959 Honda was the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles, although their range was dominated by scooters and light machines. By 1960 Honda was exporting in excess of 168,000 lightweight machines to over 50 countries. The CB72 (and the later CB250/350) was the export breakthrough the company needed – particularly in theUS where there were few lightweight machines available. These technically advanced and reliable machines sold in their thousands and established a reputation for the company’s products which persists to this day. The innovative CB450 was ahit in the UK and the CB750 set Honda on its path of superbike production. Seriously successful in the GPs in the60s with highly advanced multi-cylindered racebikes, Homda continues to dominate much of the road racing scene.

After making more than 2,000 machines, high manufacturing costs and a falling American dollar made his bikes too expensive for the US market, so he closed production in 1975.

WEARWELL: 1901-06 UK – the Wearwell Motor Carriage Company commenced in 1899 and released its first motorcycle in 1901 using engines built by the Stevens Bros. they were sold as Wearwell – Stevens. It was fitted with a two and a half hp, air cooled, 4 stroke Stevens engine, with automatic inlet valve, and mechanically operated side exhaust valve. The engine was mounted above the front down tube, had accumulator ignition, a surface carburettor, and belt drive to the back wheel. The same year saw the introduction of the ‘Motette’ powered tricycle. It was a modified version of the two and a half horse power motorcycle. In 1905 a redesigned and sturdier model was launched using the ‘Wolf’ name. It was fitted with a three and a quarter hp Stevens engine. Later they made new models using the name Wulfruna and Wolf until about 1922. The company was acquired by the Waine brothers in 1928 and they started producing Wolf badged motorcycles around 1931 until the start of WWII

WESLAKE:1936-78 England (engine manaufacturers) – Speedway machines and engines, British designer and engineer Harry Weslake started making advanced carburetors in the early 1920s under the name Wex (Weslake-Exeter). He started working on improved Sunbeam engines in the late 1920s. He formed Weslake and Taylor in 1936 with Geoffrey Taylor. He expanded after WW2 as Weslake and Company to focus on R&D and consulting and designing and building new engines. The company also made engine conversions for the Rickmans. The first complete Weslake speedway machines were produced in 1977. Harry Weslake died in 1978

WILKINSON-ANTOINE: 1903-06 England – made in Belgium
WILKINSON-TAC (WILKINSON-TMC):1903-16 UK – Wilkinson Sword Company made the TAC (Touring Auto Cycle) in 1909 and TMC (Touring Motor Cycle) in 1911, four-cylinder, air- and liquid-cooled, 676cc (later 848 and 996cc). The TAC was piloted by a steering wheel, like today’s cars. Made a shaft-drive in-line four in 1909. Production was taken over by the Ogston Motor Company from 1914 to 1916.
WILLAM: 1966-1980 France – Willam was basically a marketing label for a variety of foreign-made vehicles to be sold in France. As head of Lambretta S.A.F.D. in Levallois-Peret, M.H. Willam first presented Lambretta-engined prototypes at the Paris Salon in 1966, which were actually manufactured by Scattolini in Italy. In 1967, he entered into an alliance with Lawil of Italy, which produced a range of microcars sold in France under the names Willam City and Farmer. In 1971, another 125cc prototype was shown but not produced. Instead, Willam imported from Italy the Baldi, Zagato Zele, and later the B.M.A., Decsa and the museum example, the Casalini. Casalini was a maker of mopeds, scooters and trikes, who built the tiny Sulky in 50 or 60cc versions. Unusually for the type, it had all-steel bodywork on a tubular steel frame. In 1980 it gained a fourth wheel (and was then called Bretta or David) as well as a Break-style body. Another model was called the Kore. With sales of 1000 per year, Casalini long outlived the other Italian makes.

WOOLER: 1911-55 England – founded by John Wooler in 1911 (who designed his first bike in 1909, a two-stroke horizontal single with a double-ended piston). Renowned for unusual designs including several fore-and-aft twins, a vertical camshaft single, transverse four beam engine and a transverse flat four. First motorcycle was a 230cc two-stroke with front and rear plunger springs and a patented ‘anti-vibratory’ frame. The bike was made by Wilkinson from 1912 and marketed as Wilkinson-Wooler, raised to 350cc. Production halted during WW1 and resumed in 1919 with a new, advanced bike nicknamed the ‘Flying Banana.’ In 1930 the Depression closed the company. Wooler resumed in 1945 with a prototype 500cc transverse four. It was displayed at the Earls Court show in 1948 and again in 1951 and 1954. Only half a dozen hand-built machines were ever made and the machine never made into production.

In 1953 the 150cc Bella scooter and a 50cc clip engine were popular. 2 strokes from 50cc to 250cc were produced into the 80s. An 80cc GP racer won the 1984 World Championship but soon after the company collapsed and the tooling was sold to China and continue to be produced as the Tianjin
